Ashtanga is a strong yoga practice. The class moves slow with breath flowing posture to posture and freedom of movement that will strengthen the body and mind. The style is energetic, synchronising breath with movements.
Repetition in will assist with gradual progression of the postures and strengthen of the body and mind. The word “Ashtanga” means eight limbs. The term was first used by an ancient Indian sage called Patanjali, who wrote The Yoga Sutras. Ashtanga Yoga is the practice of these eight limbs for practitioners to experience the true goal of yoga.
